Some blogging tools (e.g. MSN Spaces) enable users to
create draft posts that aren't published to the user's
blog.

A blog client like MarsEdit or Blogjet should be able
to retrieve a draft post from the server, edit it and
then post the final version to the server with an
indication that it can now be published.

An oversight in the MetaWeblog API is that it has
mechanisms for specifying that a posted entry is a
draft or not but no way of retrieving draft posts or
specifying that a retrieved post obtained via
getRecentPosts() is a draft or not.

Joe & I are proposing that fetching draft posts is
simply a question of GETing entries whose state !=
published and publishing a draft post is simply
POSTing an entry with state == published.

Robert is proposing that there should be two different
collections and the client move entries from one
collection to another to change them from draft to
published.

Hope this clears up any confusion you have about the
issue.

THINGS TO DO IF I BECOME AN EVIL OVERLORD #222
I reserve the right to execute any henchmen who appear to be a little too intelligent, powerful, or devious. However if I do so, I will not at some subsequent point shout "Why am I surrounded by these incompetent fools?!"
