I'm looking for a way to turn this conversation into spec text. I'm having trouble coming up with anything to say about what constitutes a successful PUT or POST. I guess I'll agree with Joe's approach--it's a success if the server says it is, no matter what's happened.

Yep. And I suspect that if everyone has a cameraphone that can blog, and if you can blog @MSN Spaces or at some-other-place, and some-other-place supports the summaries you've texted in with your thumbs, but MSN spaces silently throws them away, well, the reviewers are gonna note that and pretty soon Dare's gonna be getting a call from a corner office somewhere :) -Tim
