I mean that the SOAP interface is likely going to work in a fundamentally different way that an interface based on HTTP PUT's, GET's, POST's, etc.
Ok, then I'm -1 on the pace. I see no value to defining an alternative interface to Atom, especially normatively. I'd be all for using SOAP RESTfully though.
