In the interests of transparency, I've summarized my reading of the discussion below, with pointers.

Here's how I see it:

1. PacePubControl does not have consensus support and should be marked for closure.

+1, but this needs to be revisited. From what I've seen, there seems to be general consensus that some form of publishing control mechanism needs to be provided but that we can't seem to agree on exactly how to provide it. Closing the existing proposals and getting folks to go back and put together another, more complete proposal would be good.

2. Rob Sayre has outlined an extreme position that, in general, this stuff is too blog-specific and not worthy of standardization in the core. However, my reading of the group is that there's a good chance for rough-consensus backing for some of these capabilities. Of the capabilities outlined in PubControl, trackback-out seems to have qualitatively weaker support than the others.

PacePubControl as defined IS too blog-specific. Whatever mechanism that is ultimately defined needs to very generic.

6. Now I'm going to go and look at the other Paces in play, but my initial suspicion is that none have consensus support.

+1. Probably best to close the existing ones and revisit later with a new proposal.
