PaceLinkService
Ok so since there is enough interest, and so that James Snell can
relax a bit, I have written out a first version of
http://www.intertwingly.net/wiki/pie/PaceLinkService
== Abstract ==
Create a link so that feeds can point to their service document(s).
== Status ==
in development
== Rationale ==
Currently there is no standard way to find a service document. There
is a well understood ways for finding atom feeds from html pages,
using a link relation. Atom xml aware processors are much more likely
to be also atom APP processors than plain html/xhtml processors are,
so it makes sense to place this information in a feed so that once
this feed is found the service document can easily be found too.
== Proposal ==
add the following
[[
11.3 The "service" Link Relation
This specification adds the value "service" to the Atom Registry
of Link Relations (see section 7.1 of [RFC4287]). The value of
"service" specifies that the value of the href attribute is a service
document somehow related to the containing element. The "type"
attribute for a link relation is understood to be 'application/
atomserv+xml' if not specified.
]]
== Impacts ==
None. Should make it easier to find service documents, when implemented.
