The word "update" is just going to confuse people who are accustomed to SQL. For readers who aren't SQL heads, they wouldn't even think of "update" as the natural description of this operation. They'd say "change", "modify", or "edit". We can't use "edit" but "change" and "modify" are options.

Having just read your blog entry on the same, I think "replace" makes the most sense to me.
