8.3.4 The "app:accept" Element

Whitespace around and between media-range values is insignificant and MUST be ignored.


This section is the only use of the word "Whitespace" in this document. One assumes that th term has the same meaning it does in the XML 1.0 spec, but we should probably be explicit about that somehow. If this were normatively HTML I'd say let's just link to that. However, as I've been reminded repeatedly that;s not the case so maybe we should define it in the terminology section? There are many other definitions in use. Alternately we could just say "Whitespace (space, carriage return, linefeed, tab)..."

The XML spec mostly spells this as "white space" (two words) and we should follow that, though it's not perfectly consistent. (I also see white-space).
