Not always. But it's important to know if PUT does an incremental update  
of existing data or a full replace or something in between. Currently,  
there's no way to tell. The server's don't inform about it (APP doesn't  
provide a way for them to) and the specification isn't clear about it. If  
it's up to the client to preserve everything, all the time, then that  
should be explicitly stated in the specification.
