Regarding the subject Attribute (3.2):
Is this not simply another way to add arbitrary metadata to an
atom:link? There has been lots of discussion about that on atom-syntax,
see esp[1]. Indeed, a standard mechanism to do just that is *sorely*
needed.
Instead of using @at:subject and matching up @rel of links in the same
context, couldn't you simply allow at:md to be the child of atom:link?
(in addition to allowing it as child of atom:feed & atom:entry). Of
course, the subject would then be understood to be the containing
atom:link's @href.
