Re: creating new categories w/ AtomPub
in my opinion, if you add a new category to an entry and this category doesn't exists in the categories' document, the server should add it automatically.

another possibility would be to simply treat categories as a collection of their own, and apply atompub processing to them. this is of course less lightweight than the specialized "category collection" defined by atompub, but on the other hand it utilizes functionality defined by atompub anyway. for retrieving categories, you would then have two possible "views", own as a category document, the other one as an atom feed.

Is there a standard (or perhaps widely used) method for creating new
categories in a collection with AtomPub? Perhaps posting an atom
entry w/ atomcat+xml content? Or simply posting an atomcat+xml
document to the collection (assuming it had an "app:accept" for
atomcat+xml)? Other suggestions?
