I think that this should be done in conjunction with a proper well
known URI scheme and additionally auto-discovery.

Thanks for the feedback thus far, and trust me I still have
reservations about making this look too pretty. I'm coming at this
from the angle of folks who haven't yet got the blogging religion and
wouldn't know the blogosphere if it bit them. We should do something
in the way of education for those folks and I think this is an
excellent vehicle. Again, it's an optional tag.
