Switches to Safari, which dumps a useless file on my desktop, and leaves a useless blank new window in my Safari. No aggregator gets opened.

(If I alter Shrook's bundle property list to support .atom and application/atom+xml, the program still doesn't open, though it does* if I find the file on the desktop and double click it, though obviously Shrook doesn't do anything with it)

So the basic problem here is that with the transition from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X, Apple swept the *UI* for InternetConfig under the rug. This stuff used to work in Mac OS 8 and 9 and the back end is available in Mac OS X.

It's very sad that the "invent aliases for the http: URL scheme as you go" mentality has taken hold of Apple when they could reintroduce a UI for InternetConfig media type settings (in System Preferences--*not* in Safari).

(FWIW, I think dispatching on Content-Type is the right way to go in the absence of a mechanism for dispatching on XML root element namespace.)
