I repeat, who's putting up their hand to volunteer to write the RFC

I would try, but I've just been searching around and found this draft
on the IESG website:
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-king-vnd-urlscheme-03.txt
"However, there are circumstances where it is desirable to allocate a
URI scheme name outside of this process. This document establishes
alternative trees, "vnd-" and "prs-", corresponding to the similar
concept for MIME type registrations[4]. The rules for use and
registration of URI schemes with in these trees are intended to be
analogous those for the corresponding MIME type trees."
So instead of unregistered schemes like goaim: or itms:, there'd be
globally unique schemes like vnd-aol-im: and vnd-apple-itms:. It's only
a draft alas, but I'll email the author and ask what's what with it.
If I/we managed to get prs-gp-feed: (or some such) registered, would
anyone change their minds?
