I would rather characterize such things as "not yet adopted".  I 
definately want the published snapshots and specs to evolve at a much 
more glacial pace than the mailing lists and wiki.

That being said, either I have missed it, or I don't believe that 
consensus has emerged around a single SSF proposal.  What would help is 
for draft spec language to be written up and for somebody to experiment 
with deploying such feeds on their site so that people could see how it 
is done.
