Yes but basically everyone who actually produces syndication and blogging tools would be forced to appear as an invited guest*, since the tools are mostly produced by independents, so it seems like the only way to make this work at the W3C would be to bend the W3C's rules and processes to be just like the IETF's, so why not just go to them?
