Re: Semantics

Ahh! Damn that redirect button.

Sorry for the mistake.

I posted the following on the atom-syntax list, but have not got any feedback there. I'll post it here for the record.

Come to think of it I did not ask any questions. So it is not surprising that there are no answers either. I spent too much time drawing the diagrams to think of asking the questions:

- which of the two models seems more representative of what people have in mind on this list?
- If there are things that need clarification don't hesitate to ask me, I have spent some time working on this, and may have convinced myself of some of the things I have done but not explained the reasons for those decisions clearly in the short e-mail.
- If I am posting to the wrong list, please let me know.
- Is there anything else I would need to do to make the post more relevant to
this list?
- Has this perhaps been discussed to death before already?

The purpose of what I am doing is to create a model of what an Atom feed is, so that I can create a database of all the feeds I write and subscribe to. I am using OWL to help me explore this area and am implementing the ideas in a small prototype of BlogEd. I think this process leads one to ask some interesting questions.

Please note that I am not doing this to impose RDF on the community: specs such as GRDDL and others make that unnecessary. In fact the next thing I am going to do is write an GRDDL converter from Atom to one of my models. I was hoping the feedback from the list would help me easily eliminate one of the models.

Sorry again about the repost.
