Multiple languages per document can be tricky. The search engines
that I have worked on pick a single language per document. If a
feed is treated as a single document, supporting per-entry xml:lang
will require some interesting changes.
Still, I could support xml:lang for each entry. I think it is
less useful to have separate languages at a lower level, like
for title and summary. Possible, yes, but rarely useful.
I would like Atom to specify the default language when there is
no xml:lang tag. If we don't spec that, then we force language-ID
on every client that is language-sensitive. That is expensive and
error-prone.
