The only thing that bugs me about this, is that 'xml:lang' is in the
XML namespace, while 'hreflang' isn't. I think that both language
definitions should reside in the same namespace.
I think that doesn't make sense. "xml:lang" is already defined and
used in other XML languages, why would Atom not use it?
What bugs me is that XLink doesn't define an '@hreflang' and that there
(of course) isn't an 'xml:hreflang'. Language identification should
imho be done in the same manner, namespace and everything, if it was
possible.
I think that XLink has nothing to do with this. If you want a (in XML
syntax) defined "hreflang" you could use "xhtml:hreflang".
("xml:hreflang" would be a bit strange, since the W3C hasn't defined a
"xml:href" yet.)
