* why ERR instead of ERROR?
ERROR is not a verb and someone was looking for a verb (then again
OPTIONS is not a verb).
It doesn't have to be a verb. It is a "method" according to HTTP 1.1
section 5.1.1. It is "the method to be performed on the resource".
"Err" is intransitive, so it is nonsense in this usage. It means that
the subject (client) made a mistake and says nothing about the resource.
Even with a better name, I am strongly opposed to a new HTTP method
for reporting errors.
