Propose New Issue: version string for the -00 format
[ Not wearing my WG co-chair hat ] If we accept PaceVersionAsText, we
get to also decide what text should be used for the version string
for the first Internet Draft. Given that we hope that people will
*not* implement from the draft except in experimental parsers, the
length of the version string is not important. Thus, we can go
against nearly all industry practice and make the string useful.
Proposal: The version string in the -00 draft should be
"draft-ietf-atompub-format-00.txt DO NOT IMPLEMENT". And, just to
make it clear, there should be a description that says:
The version string in this document specifies the name of the
document and the fact that implementers should not implement this
version of the spec in publicly-distributed software. Future version
strings will, of course be different, and at some point the "DO NOT
IMPLEMENT" portion of the string will go away.
