fyi:
Pope Gregory III (731-741) set up All Saints Day (All Hallows Eve -> Halloween), but it is commonly thought that the celebration predates this considerably, with the Celtic New Year (Samhain) being one predecessor. Trick or Treat comes from the European tradition of "souling", Jack-o-lantern is thought to be Irish, and in fact it is assumed that the Irish introduced Halloween to the US.

As they say in the Old World (Canada too?): "Ce n'est pas à un singe qu'on apprend à faire les grimaces".

Marginally on topic - the location of f2f meetings should take into account the fact that there is a world outside the US.

Cheers,
Danny.
