Last night, it said the feed wasn't valid, but today it's saying: "Warning: This feed is valid, but may cause problems for some users. We recommend fixing these problems."

I'm not sure about this wording, but providing a warning is fine.

Also:
"Solution: Use the canonical form, given in the warning message."

Are you advocating changing permanent identifiers? Bad Sam.

ID canonicalization was a bloody stupid idea.
