"Distancing" future service document formats from 
application/atomsvc+xml documents is link/@type's job, not link/@rel's. 
That's what link/@type is for, and it's perfectly capable of expressing 
the distinction. I see no benefit in, nor any reason to limit the scope 
of the service link relation.
