Yes, I had already done that.  The references only prove my point - most
of the "significant" ones are are associated with MUAs that hardly
anybody uses.  Yes, there are 500K+ hits, but many of them are from
archived list messages from people using Exim or Mush or some obscure
MUA.  They're not a random sample of email messages, and they're
not representative of overall user preference.  And 500K uses over
a period of several years is a drop in the bucket.

If you searched net-accessible archives for messages where the list
had sent reply-to to point to the list, you'd find a lot of hits 
for those also.  But that doesn't say much about overall user
preference, and even less about the desirability of lists munging
reply-to.
