As you'll note, I asked Marshall Rose for a reference and he
suggested that you may be able to help. We have found UUENCODE and
UUDECODE in the interim. If you can help re: the MIME spec and a
DOS-based converter, I would greatly appreciate it.

I work for the Department of Commerce, NOAA. The reason for contacting you is
that we have a current project to develop an E-mail hub for interchange
between X.400 over SprintNet, Banyan E-mail, VMSmail on a VAX, SMTP, and
cc:Mail. Our core system is PMDF from InnoSoft Int'l which includes, in the
4.1 incarnation, MIME translation. As one of the movers and shakers of the
TCP/IP-Internet community, and more importantly as a major protocol architect,
I'm hoping you may be able to point me in the direction of (A) the MIME spec,
and (B) someone who has developed a MIME translator for the DOS-based world.
If you also have a reference for someone who has ported UUENCODE/UUDECODE over
to DOS, I would also appreciate that information.
