Bill,

I think you are raising an extremely interesting point.  Mime has
a collection of core technical capabilities.  Users have a set of
human communication styles (or whatever term suits) and stylistic
nuance is an important part of human communication.  Defining
conventions for Mime usage which match common (or even formal)
inter-personal and inter-organization styles would be very useful.
