I agree with Dave.

Also worth noting, is that the group has had two meetings on the left coast
now and a third is proposed. I can't afford to travel those great distances
(on either a time or money basis). A trip to an IETF meeting in general is
tough to justify if the working group is only going to meet for two hours,
as I understand it did on Tuesday.

For us right-coasters a trip to the west coast for a one day meeting
realistically takes three days. You have to fly in the day before, and
unless you catch a red-eye back and suffer with being brain-dead at work the
next day, you wind up travelling back the day after the meeting. A small
company like ours (there are just two of us) generally can't afford to lose
a staff member for three days, regardless of the out-of-pocket expenses.

That said, I believe the latest WG meeting was necessary to get the primary
participants in the same room so everyone could realize there weren't dogs
at the other end of the wire. Still, I think as much as possible should be
done over the net.

I found it interesting that the traffic in the list didn't seem to drop off
much before the meeting. I got several messages the morning of the meeting
from several people I knew would be at the meeting...
