I would also agree with Harald.
XML may be a good thing to be investigating, but the current syntax being
used in the IETF for the text/directory and text/calendar objects have a
wide following. They are also very terse and require a small parser
environment.
Just recently, I received a note from a "major" PDA vendor that indicated
that they will be supporting vCard and vCalendar for their soon to be
released handheld. This appears to be an easy to support syntax for both
small footprint and heavier iron environments.
Still...I am also looking into future use of XMl for bindings for these
formats. Always good to keep your options open.
Let's get these current specs published and into interoperability testing!
