RE: iCalendar as an XML DTD

Two points to remember when thinking about this issue.

There is a rapidly increasing requirement for calendar interoperability
between corporations of all sizes. We do not need additional delays to the
progress of this groups while then inclusion of a new protocol of the month
is considered as a interoperability protocol. We need product to be
shipped.

There seems to be a misunderstanding in the developer, and academic,
communities that Web Browsers are where corporations will be doing all their
business in the future. This will not be true, Web Browsers will be used
as one tool, for the appropriate usage, for distributing information in the
corporation. It will not be the only tool. The Web Browser assumes a well,
and permanently, connected network. This is not the case in a large
Globally distributed corporation. Over 50% of new machines that we are
bringing into the corporation are laptops. It is imperative that these work
when disconnected from the network We also have locations across the globe
where telecommunications is a problem, this includes parts of the US outside
of the major cities.

Straw poll. Who here *wouldn't* like to be able to present and interact
with calendars via style sheets in a browser?
