Thanks for bringing this up. IRIP is not dead. We were focusd on ical,
itip, and imip up until last week. The IRIP editors are planning to
release another draft based on a bit of feedback we received during a
presentation at the LA meeting. We don't have a date yet, but it should
not take too long to do.

There has not been much feedback on the initial draft. Any feedback
would, of course, help us in the next draft.

Feedback on major protocol features would be especially helpful. As an
example, all the critiques of real-time protocols (published just prior
to the Memphis meeting) listed unbounded latency as a major issue. So,
in IRIP we provided a way to bound the response latency. At the recent
LA meeting, I got the sense that this was not really an issue, at least
for those attending the IRIP session.

The sooner we get feedback from the working group, the sooner we can get
to the final revision of IRIP.
