So essentially the app has to reset the alarm timer every time it gets data from the CS so that the timer does not consider the app dead when in fact its just waiting for the CS to return more data?  If it does this then it still has no way to terminate the unbounded command on the CS short of actual disconnecting.  Right?

Also why wouldn't the Palm, or any CUA for that matter want the command on the CS to eventually time out?  I can't think of any scenario where this is useful.  Help me!...
