Actually, if I recall my XML rules, you can code:
<xCal:iCalendar
xmlns:xCal="http://ietf.org/rfc/rfcXXXX.txt">
Namespaces apply to the containing element as well. And I agree
that the iCalendar element should be in a namespace. Just for
human-readability reasons it associates the iCalendar with the xCal
namespace, and that's a good thing to be reminded ot.
