What can ETRN do for me?

My current situation is: i need to set up a mail server within the Intranet
of a client's company. That server should, at regular hours, pull in all
the mail of each of his employees mail accounts (which are currently
properly set up in my mail server and functioning). The pulled in email
messages should then be distributed to the internal email accounts of each
of those employees. Basically, i'm using NT machines both on my mail server
and my client's internal mail server. I am also using SLMailNT 2.5 on both
machines. 

So, my question is: i know how to configure the internal mail server to use
ETRN (i've read SLMailNT's manual) but i donīt know if other measures need
to be taken on the (real, permanently connected) mail server.

I would really appreciate if anyone could spend a bit of time helping me
out on this,
