hi guys, i'm new to win2k ... i'm a developer... i wanna create an asp page that will send an email using cdonts... i'm quite confused actually.. my web app will reside on my win2k (server name= megat.megatron.net) .. our intranet also has another server, nt4.0 (server name= smart.smart_dom.com) that host exchange server 5.5... i configure my smatp server (on my win2k server) so that my smart host will point to the exchange server... on my win2k, i also has configured the ad+dns... this is my question.. 1. in smtp conf., if i check the attempt direct delivery option and the recipient name will be megatshamsul@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ; which is our corporate internet mail... i'll receive the mail shortly... successfull... BUT, if i uncheck the attempt direct delivery option, i won't receive any email + no bounce + no queues... i don't know where the email gone... what could be the problem.. 2. now, in my asp page i put the recipient name = megatshamsul@xxxxxxxxxxxxx .... the email address for the intranet server... even with check or uncheck the attempt direct delivery option, i will not received any email... why? even... on my dns i have the entry for the exchange server name... 3. what's the function of 'attempt direct delivery' option? is it something to do with dns? or is it because of my smtp setting? ... any help would be most appreciated.... regards, Thanks in Advance.
