RE: Internet EDI -- Clearing House? Certification Authority
Just as with email, each party has one (or several) certificates which identify them. These may be created by themselves, or by a third party certificate authority, such as the government, an ISP, an association, a certificate-providing company or a VAN. They are usable more than once to support edi exchanges.

Subject: Internet EDI -- Clearing House? Certification Authority
Hello,
For EDI over Internet, is it necessary to have a digital
certificate for each EDI transaction?
Or the Clearing house (maybe an Internet VAN or ISP) has already more or
less the functions that acts like a signing of digital certificate?
Best Regards,
