Additionally, IETF Workgroup will look at real time EDI next. To Date we have papers out on EDI over smtp in a secure manner. These should apply to ftp also.  Later, Rik

We, in X12-C-TG1, are working on a document entitled "TCP/IP Guidelines
for EDI over the Internet" which will cover EDI over HTTP, FTP, etc. 
However, we are still some months from completion.  It will be issued as
a X12 Technical Report.
