HTTP POST Responses

In respone to Chuck S and Rick Y:

We are talking about an HTTP POST from a batch browser to a web server
running a CGI. We have an "http envelope" from which a "http response"
is created. The "http envelope" contains encrypted X12 data. The
receiving server sends an "http response" with a timestamp, character
count, status etc.

If decryption fails, the server sends a notice to the sender's web
server. Also, ANSI 997s are sent for every transaction.

Currently, no company runs mailboxing software; all docs are sent
directly to the receiving server.
