ietf-imaa mailing list

Welcome to the Web site for the ietf-imaa mailing list. The ietf-imaa mailing list is now closed. When it was active, it was for discussing how to use non-ASCII characters on the left side of email addresses in mail applications.

Note that the "ietf-" in the name was misleading. It was the intention of the mailing list to possibly formally bring the work into the IETF; that never happened. There was a birds-of-a-feather session at the IETF in early 2004, but the group decided that there was not consensus about how to move forwards, and also decided that it was premature to consider this in the IETF.
