This seems to be reasonable: I can think about an implementation where a "thin" client on a cellular phone asks only for a message channel, and sends it to a server that will allow it fetch the data in another format. For example, an Email to Speech system.

I think that CHANNEL is mainly a shortcut to the data. This is not reasonable to ask for a 250 bytes shortcut to a 200 bytes response. That's why.

OK, so now I have a couple of questions:

- Am I allowed to get the entire message instead of just a part?

- The document says (in a comment)

You cannot ask for .HEADERS or .MIME data with CHANNEL.

Why not?
