Extended LDIF format approved
The suggested Extended LDIF format was yesterday presented to the interested
parties, i.e., all Danish telephone/mobile operators and other publisher of
telephone information. The meeting was called by the Danish Ministry of
Research and Information Technology. Although these parties have very
conflicting requirement and wishes, they unanimously agreed that the
Extended LDIF format as suggested by me is the best possible solution. It
will be part of an attachment to a Danish law on mandatory exchange of
telephone number information.
It is my intention to progress the Extended LDIF specification to a formal
status. I am still looking for comments on how the proposal fits into LDUP
work and also possible suggestion to improvement.
The Extended LDIF specification is on the Internet Drafts repository
(draft-andersen-isss-ws-dir-ldifext-00.txt).
