The information needs to be preserved. 
 
As does its "Chain of Custody" ...  And the key here is that this data MUST be preserved in a manner that makes it admissible in Courts of Law or there is no reason to store the data... in fact if LTANS' is not setup to meet the legal requirements in place today - LTANS operators would not be allowed to submit data to the Courts, and further that data wouldnt meet the Compliance Audit requirements for SOX and other legislation.
 
So who would use LTANS then?
