  1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3 is a monotonically increasing sequence of integers
according to some common definitions for sequences or functions.

As far as I remember my math classes from 30 years ago,
non-ambiguous terms are 'strictly increasing" or
"monotone and strictly increasing" or "monotonically
strictly increasing" ...
