Access Descriptors Object Identifier

PKIX Part 1 defines four private OID arcs:

id-pe	OID ::= { id-pkix 1 }	-- certificate extensions
id-qt	OID ::= { id-pkix 2 }	-- policy qualifier types
id-kp	OID ::= { id-pkix 3 }	-- extended key purpose OIDs
id-ad	OID ::= { id-pkix 48 }	-- access descriptors


Question: is id-ad really supposed to be { id-pkix 4 }?  That would make
more sense, but the "48" is consistent throughout the document
(section 4.2.2.1, Appendix A, and Appendix B), which casts some doubt on
the theory that it was just a typo.
