CHARTER:

      The cert-talk mailing list is a public, unmoderated forum
devoted to practical technical issues surrounding the use of X.509
certificates in public-key cryptography applications.

SUBJECT MATTER:

Topics of interest on cert-talk include, but are not limited to:

      * Practical problems and tools related to certificate
        manipulation:

        Import and export of certificates into applications
        Data extraction from certificates
        Certificate extension handling
        Compatibility of certificates across applications
        Revocation schemes
        Certificate storage schemes and APIs
        Distinguished name manipulation
        Certificate profiles and trust attributes
        Chain formation
        Signing and verification

      * Use of (and problems with) X.509 certificates with other
        public key technologies and networking standards such as:

        Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and IETF TLS
        S/MIME secure electronic mail
        PKCS consortium standards
        SET (Secure Electronic Transactions)
        SKIP
        LDAP

    The easiest method is to visit the URL

    Alternatively, send mail to the email address

 cert-talk-request@structuredarts.com

    with the body of the message containing the single word SUBSCRIBE
    You need not put any text in the subject of your message.

    Please do not send requests to the cert-talk list itself.

ONCE I AM SUBSCRIBED, HOW TO I SEND MAIL TO CERT-TALK?

    Any mail addressed to <cert-talk@structuredarts.com> will be sent
    to all members of the cert-talk mailing list.

HOW DO I UNSUBSCRIBE FROM CERT-TALK?

    The easiest method is to visit the URL

 http://mail.structuredarts.com/cert-talk/

    Alternatively, to remove your name from the cert-talk list send
    mail to the address

        cert-talk-request@structuredarts.com

    with the message body being the single word UNSUBSCRIBE. You need
    not put any text in the body of your message.

    Please do not send requests to the cert-talk list itself.
