I am not whether the following has been discussed or not for OCSP:

Question: Is the protocol just intended to specify the communication between
a client and the well-known validation point, or is there something
to about how to find that point.

I image a possible response from the server saying, no, don't do this
here, go elsewhere, here's the 'connection info' (URL or whatever).
