RE: Requirements, First

Title: RE: Requirements, First
I may have missed a decision on "a=encryption" versus "a=security" but my thoughts are highly in favour of the former. The reason is that security is too vague whereas encryption offers a single service: confidentiality. It may be necessary to add other tags to cover other security services (authenticity, integrity).

Hang on, are we now expanding beyond what is reasonable to achieve?

Would it not be a GREAT service to mankind if we managed to get SIP based multimedia secured in a consistant way?  Is it really important to solve ALL rtp based security needs with one solution right now?

I'd advocate sticking with SIP for the moment.  I don't want to limit to in band solutions, at least not yet.

SIP is not everything, but it's the thing with the big mess right now.  Let's solve that problem first and then go on to world domination.

Hi,

Something like ZRTP?
