Dan,That was not my intention. I am surprised too that you see it that way. Suppose people in another standards organization propose X to take to the IETF and let us say I know of some work along the same lines of X that didn't go anywhere in the IETF. Sometimes we have public records such as this exchange and other times all I may have are vague private emails from ADs. Wouldn't I be in about the same situation as I am in now?
I could keep quiet and let them find out themselves or if I am interested in making forward progress, I would try and communicate.
Anyway, sorry this has been a useless exercise. best wishes, Lakshminath On 6/12/2007 7:20 PM, Dan Wing wrote:
In a few of the emails in this thread, I mentioned 3GPP and 3GPP2. So it is inaccurate to say "unspecified organization." Anyway, it appears that we have moved past having a professional conversation.Yes, I have been waiting for additional information and am frustrated to have received only FUD about previous attempts tosomething that also attempted to use certificates. I'm sorry it devolved, too, but details and moving forward is helpful. Holding back progress with FUD about previous attempts is not. -d
