Let's meet in Paris...
Folks,
From yesterday's mails it look to me like there's at
least enough interest to go ahead and meet in Paris (but
feel free to contradict me there if you like!).
Magnus and I suggested an agenda, (below). If anyone else
has an agenda item (e.g. some of the things mentioned
yesterday like TLS-PSK or Plan9/EKE/PAK would seem
relevant) can you say so. Don't worry about who'd
present what for now, we can work out ways to handle
people not being in Paris later on if necessary.
If we were to go ahead and re-charter one of the main
things we'd need are people to do work. If you're
interested in helping out there (and have cycles to
actually do stuff) can you let Magnus and I know (off
list is fine).
And of course, feel free to continue discussing whether
and how SPEKE,EKE,PAK,TLS-PSK-DH, etc. might be good or
bad for use in sacred.
Lastly, no-one commented on the 3rd item (BEEP vs HTTP),
which was a major discussion item on the list when we
had to make that decision. I guess my default assumption
is that silence on that means: "yep, if you do do
something then layer on HTTP instead of BEEP". (Note
that that doesn't preclude a different layering on UDP
if, as Radia suggests, its really possible to do a
1-shot protocol.) Again, correct me if you disagree.
Regards,
Stephen.
