Perhaps we can have a consensus call made now. Perhaps we'll only be

Tom? Kurt? What do you think?

While I do appreciate your desire to conclude on these issues sooner
than later, I am reluctant to attempt to close the poll early
especially when consideration of the poll also involves consideration
of multiple proposals. I am also reluctant to offer a statement of
where the chairs might think we currently stand during the course of
the poll, as this might discourage participants who have yet to speak
up from speaking up.

There seems to be consensus on a single proposal, even though the poll
was about multiple proposals.

Given your deep involvment as a participant in this poll, and the fact
that this WG has a co-chair who has not been deeply involved with this
poll, I'd much rather that your co-chair (Tom) make any and all
decisions that WG chairs can make regarding such polls. If Tom is not
available then let's find out when he might be -- that might make a
reasonable deadline, else we might have a process problem.

It is Tom and my usual practice to work together to form "the chairs opinion" of consensus of contentious issues such as this. I suspect we'll do the same in this case.
