I don't think it does.  There's plenty of precedent for setting up a
mailing list as the reviewer; if the list goes away, the IESG can
designate a new reviewer.
How about changing the e-mail address to sasl@xxxxxxxx so the e-mail
name is at least under the IETF's control?

I don't think this matters much, this is a WG mailing list and IETF has control over which mailing lists are used by WGs.

The address can be a forward
to this list, if we for some reason don't want to move the list to
sasl@xxxxxxxx as well.
As a side note: I've talked to our AD Pasi (who talked to Paul Hoffman) and he said that in a few months this mailing list will migrate to @ietf.org.
